水塘北角彎是賽道的最後一個彎，車手可以在這裡加速衝向起步/終點線。在澳門外港建成之前，這彎角曾是水翼船靠岸時的參考點。水塘北角彎的英文名字是「R Bend」，英文字母「R」其實即是英文字「Reference」(解作參考)的縮寫。這個參考點其實是一個會發光的巨型交叉，就算在日間都能被清楚看見，而在夜間，這更是船隻唯一的導航指示。

The final corner on the circuit is R Bend, an important place where competitors can gain speed to carry them down to the start/finish line. The corner was used as reference for the approach of the hydrofoils before Macau’s outer harbour was built – the “R” being an abbreviation for “reference”. The reference took the form of a giant illuminated cross which could be seen clearly during the day, and which provided the only form of navigation at night.
