Macau Grand Prix Launches Brand New Website
The Macau Grand Prix will launch its all-new, interactive website on August 19th 2003, with a special section devoted to this year’s historic 50th running of the prestigious event.
The new website, at www.macau.grandprix.gov.mo is both entertaining and informative, and is tailored to surfers of all ages and interests. The site contains games, Ecards, wallpaper, photo galleries, the latest news, plus links to a whole host of international motorsport and Macau-related sites.
Information on the site is available in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Portuguese, and is updated on a daily basis with up-to-the-minute news.
Visitors can access information on how to book tickets and hotels for this year’s event, which will be held over two weekends on November 8th and 9th, and from November 13th to 16th, and find information on the thrilling line-up of both on and off-track events planned to mark the Macau Grand Prix’s Golden Jubilee.
The rich history of the event, which first ran in 1954, is comprehensively documented with information on the Grand Prix year-by-year, historic and contemporary photographs, and the impressive roll call of all the famous names who have won the event over half a Century.
Video clips give racing fans a taste of the high-octane excitement that has made the Macau Grand Prix one of the world’s most well respected motorsport events.
The site also contains intriguing information such as how the twists and turns on Macau’s famous Guia street circuit got their names, and visitors can place votes online to decide the most exciting part of the race track.
Macau Grand Prix winner in 2001, and subsequent Formula 1 driver Takuma Sato, gives surfers a fascinating insight into what it is like to race at top speeds on the streets of Macau, with a high-speed lap of the track explaining speeds, gears and racing lines.
For aspiring racing drivers, or for those who want to know more about the world of motor racing a section, “From Karting to Formula 1”, describes the various categories of racing a driver must go through in order to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
